  • Unless The Nation, by way of its writers, puts its money where its mouth is and either (1) demands for our troops some backup/relief in the form of a draft, or else (2) demands Bush's immediate impeachment in order to end the war and bring our people home, The Nation can kiss its luxury concerns (same as those of us with loved ones in the war know we may already have done, with our real concerns) goodbye.

The more the media criticize McCain, the more those of us who are other than self-serving see the media as being out of control, seriously troubled. The soldiers have no representation in Obama, and are dependant upon their commanders. That's where McCain would come in, even if he weren't all that we have left.

McCain, though, is no small thing, not even to Democrats, and no matter how the media try to make him to be small. He forces all of us to know that if Barack Obama had ever loved anything other than himself, nothing could've stopped him from ending the war or from dying trying.

For The Nation's condidate to win, The Nation is forced to make the reader believe that the next President (no matter who he is) will still be able to snooker him and his Congress, same way Bush was able to.
