  • No kidding, Alex. It was an astonishing revelation to me about how much baggage John McCain is carrying, and no progressive Democrat organization or publication has brought it out into the public realm. Thanks to The Nation. The next Democratic presidential nominee better use all that arsenal or they will go the way of John Kerry.

  • I agree with Cockburn. Obama should hit back. He could ask the question whether she would get up at 3 am to answer the phone in light of the fact that she had been too busy to read the National Intelligence Estimate, her only participation in a national security crisis. She was too busy, reminiscent of W., who, when told that Al Qaeda was about to fly planes into US buildings, dismissed the CIA officer and went back to clearing brush on his ranch. And then, in an act of supreme negligence, she followed Bush in lockstep into Bagdad.
