  • Sadly, it seems Hillary xeroxed two passages into her "majestic" closing remarks. Hillary actually said last night that we should watch Obama's "plagiarism" on Youtube. So it is only fair we now watch two of hers that came mere minutes after her "Xerox" and Youtube comments:

My guess is her staff collects these Xeroxes into grab bags and then forget that these are actually appropriated material. Sigh. I actually like Hillary. But this is too absurd! Indeed, it's "Silly Season!"

  • Ms. vanden Heuvel told Hayden that he was wrong in 2004. I will tell him that he is wrong now. These trade agreements were always a disaster, and should be eliminated. You cannot change the American economy if you do not control the American economy. Clinton promised to regulate the flood of foreign goods to insure the "safety" of Americans. You cannot regulate foreign countries, but you can regulate US-made products. You can bring back or create new jobs and industries behind a wall of tariffs, but with "free trade" and open borders you cannot protect American jobs or industries. Wages will go down, and the American market built behind tariff walls will disappear. Progressives regulated big business and broke up trusts. Neither Clinton or Obama are Progressives, but careerists at the disposal of special interests. I am going to become an Independent Progressive. These people are useless!

  • As they say, talk is cheap. The rhetoric was tailored for the primaries to come. Looking closer at their contributors, their advisors and their past positions, I can't bring myself to call their positions progressive yet.

How long ago was it that Hillary voted to declare a group in Iran a terrorist organization, knowing full well that in that moment Iran was fully in Bush and Cheney's sights. Just looking at Hillary's foreign policy advisors gives me the chills.

How long ago was it that Barack was reintroducing Social Security reform when economists like Dean Baker and Paul Krugman said there is no problem until 2040? How close is Obama to the Wall Street Boys when we know we need to reimplement Glass-Steagal and pass other regulation?

How long ago was it that both said our soldiers would be in Iraq through their first terms?

Progresssives need to stick with their agenda and not happy-talk our way into another DLC presidency.
