  • "What exactly do most Americans want to exit from?"

    Not empire itself, but the mounting costs of empire. Of course, the two are inextricable. And therein lies the rub, one that neither of the current two Dem candidates dare confront, at least not publicly.

    Consequently, we haven't seen the worst of what we Americans will have to bear. Neither has far too much of the rest of the world. Suffering on a longterm, increasingly catastrophic scale will be the unavoidable result of US imperial policies.

    But, hey, ExxonMobil just racked up an all-time record annual net profit of $40,600,000,000, that's 40 billion 600 million. See? So the picture ain't all dark, now is it?
