  • It may be of interest to note that Franklin Roosevelt was not considered an exceptionally progressive "bright star" on the political scene before being chosen to run for President. In his case, the times gave him the voice.

    Today, his being wheelchair bound would of course not be kept a secret from the public, nor would even the slightest verbal flaw go unnoticed. But I think the principle of "right place, right time" might again make Obama more than just the lesser of the evils that Hayden seems to imply he is.

    Obama must first achieve a consensus to lead the country and, recognizing that there are enemies which are not just the imagined ones of Bush 2, challenge us to seek world peace agaim.
