  • I can't say that I am totally surprised that Cockburn has neglected to identify the sponsor of the conference he spoke at. They are a rather scuzzy lot clustered around the website Spiked Online. Like Alexander, they are global warming denialists. They are also big fans of DDT, genetically modified crops, atomic power, foxhunting, the right to smoke in restaurants and other "contrarian" opinions that are a mix of John Stossel and the WSJ editorial page. Too bad that the WSJ decided to drop Alexander in light of his obvious growing affinity with them nowadays.
