  • Che, socialist icon, symbol of the Latin American revolutionary movement, But, why do so many want to "be like Che" when they have no idea what the real Che was? In reality, his role in the Cuban revolution was as a mediocre thug and executioner. At the end of his Bolivian campaign, he surrendered hungry, alone and without a fight to the Bolivian army. As is so often the case, style trumps substance for the left.
