  • What a pathetic article! One of the purposes of modern science has often been war, especially after WWII (remember Robert Oppenheimer and the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory). Nothing unusual there. Ms. Ehrenreich is delusional if she thinks her own humanistic brand of positive thinking is better than the one she's criticizing.

  • John Templeton thinks the fight in Iraq is now about Al Qaeda, and Barbara Ehrenriech thinks saying so is reckless and belligerent. That is all I learned from this article. Either analyze the proposition, or take seriously the conference you attended. Respect it at least enough to shred it honestly. But in your article you do neither Grade C-.

  • Excuse me, Ms. Ehrenreich, but how is John Templeton's right-wing psychobabble any different from the left-wing psychobabble The Nation puts out on its website?
