  • The problem with this article is that it does not distinguish between above or below sea-level parts of New Orleans.

    It is foolish and cruel to encourage people to move back to parts of New Orleans which could be flooded--unless the areas are "floodproofed" which will take a decade at least even if we started today. (You can't really floodproof an area unless you rebuild the barrier islands and wetlands; and that is a mammoth task.)

  • Heroic as it sounds, it is still utter stupidity to try to rebuild the parts of New Orleans below sea level!
