Did the last writer actually state that there is no liberal media? What the heck you think you're readin', boy, Stars and Stripes? This very website posts some of the most liberal rantings found anywhere on the Internet; and that's saying something. Hell son, even the liberal media accepts that they're liberal.

That, and they've hated Mr. Bush ever since election day in 2000 when they found out that Florida looked like a tie. The major networks couldn't believe that we didn't elect Gore. What was wrong with us? I remember Katie Couric leaving the set when it became clear that nothing was going to happen in Florida that evening. She gave the snottiest exit speech I think I've ever heard. I hate to ask how old you were when Bush was first elected, because I'm pretty sure I have socks older than you, but right then and there, the media swore to post the election results in a way to look like Bush stole the election. And they'd never let him live it down.

When in fact it was Gore who had only requested a partial recount, posted differing standards to determine voter "intent" (I love that one). Don't you remember the two guys (or girls) who would argue endlessly regarding the presence (or lack thereof) of a chad? Do you remember that Gore himself tried (hard) to block the absentee votes from being counted in Florida? Do you remember the Florida Supreme Court, in their landmark ruling (which was subsequently spanked back by the Federal Supreme Court) in which the minority opinion stated that they couldn't foresee a condition where the majority's argument would be found constitutional? But Bush stole it by using the Supreme Court, big oil and daddy? Give me a break!

The liberal media actually took pity on America in the tragic days following 9/11; and thank God for that. If they would've started in with "Why did Building 7 fall?" and "Where's the plane from the Pentagon?" and "Where's Osama?" or, my favorite, "Did We Do This To Ourselves?" then I think the average American would've happily marched down to their local media outlet, and stomped the crap out of every writer, reporter and editor in the place. Part of me wonders if we missed our chance. But the mainstream media central to right? Only if you're name is Mao Tse-Tung, my friend (Google him if you're confused). Only then would you ever stand left of the mainstream media.

Now I won't give you much of an argument regarding some of the decisions our President has made, I find them odd, at best. But I'm not about to fall for this crap that he's a traitor and a coward, and certainly not a total idiot. He can't speak well, but since when has that been a prerequisite? Since Reagan?

Finally, its commonly reported that Winston Churchill said "Any 20-year-old who isn't a liberal doesn't have a heart, and any 40-year-old who isn't a conservative doesn't have a brain."

Personally, I don't worry about young liberals... It's the older ones I can't figure out.

Mr. Gore would make an superb President and would give independent voters a candidate to support. I believe few indepedents are enamored with Hillary Clinton, who seems to repeatedly place her political ambition before her beliefs and who appears to be turning off many her own party members.

The mainsteam media seems to prefer caricatures to real-life people and insists on portraying our leaders (Bush, Reagan, Bill Clinton) as one-dimensional idiots and fools when they are in reality much more intelligent, multidimensional and deeper thinkers than your average modern journalist.

Mr. Gore is one of the smartest people in many years to have run for President and so must endure shabby treatment from the current crop of reporters/commentators who seem to think a great deal of themselves but not very much about the rest of us.

There is no such thing as the "liberal media" in the mainstream press. Newspapers run from center right to far right. They love the DLC types who favor free trade and would sell their mother for a campaign contribution. On cable news and Meet the Press-type programs, you see the Democrats who supported the war, and policy discussions are tied to the next election and not the effects of policy on the country or the world. The only decent American television news channel is CNN International. They know their stuff. ABC is pretty good for a half-hour show, but a lot of knowledge and experience died with Peter Jennings.

While I do not agree with everything he says, I like Lou Dobbs. He doesn't know much about foreign policy, but he is smart enough to know that America is being betrayed by the multinationals, free trade, Congress and the Administration. There are a some people on the right who are patriots and share many of your goals. I am big on engagement, dialogue, and building relationships to solve problems. We might not agree on everything, but on certain issues, we need to work together.
