It's great to see someone step up and address the issue of Major League Baseball's reluctance to admit any knowledge of their players use of steroids/performance enhancers.

How could anyone believe the trainers, owners, general managers, etc. were so "out of it" they didn't notice anything unusual when a player appeared at spring training thirty pounds heavier, sporting a cut physique and hitting baseballs harder and further than ever before?

What MLB did notice was the money that began to pour back into baseball as fans were drawn back to the game by these "super hitters." I'm sure they even did some research relating to steroid use and its consequences, but rather than risk losing fans by taking a stand on juicing, they chose to ignore the situation and go with the Brian Cashman mindset of "whatever goes on individually with these guys, is really on them."

Pull off the band-aid MLB, get your rules in place now and put this issue to bed.

Maybe Jason Giambi isn't pulling his weight so far this season, but I salute him for speaking out--why now? maybe this is his way of giving something positive back to the game, the players and the fans.
