In spite of all the attention Tenet's book is getting I can't imagine that it's going to sell. I don't know anything about publishing, but I think his book would have been a bigger hit if he had informed us at the time that we should have not gone to war with Iraq. I would rather read a book about one of our leaders actually doing something heroic for a change, but thats just me. I should know better than to expect something like that.

This book will go a long way to antagonize and anger its readers and confirm our lack of trust in the government. Not exactly a selling point for the book. Hey George, hindsight is always 20/20 but what you've managed to do is insult our intelligence as well.

Somewhere, I think there is a publisher cleaning out his desk because he gave a $4 million advance to a guy who wants to make money off of his cowardice.

The three sentences of Tenet is a recurrent theme in this tragic event that is the war on Iraq. Clark, O’Neal, and now Tenet have said the same thing: Bush and the cabal that accompanied him to power came prepared to attack and occupy Iraq. What is missing is the answer to the question, why? During his 60 Minutes interview he was asked what Tenet thought was the reason for this war, and he refused to answer that question. Is it not astounding that no one can figure out why this war?

Journalists and commentators have failed to launch a thorough investigation of the people who were/are the ideologues and architects of this war, to examine their past, their ideologies, their allegiances, their personal and professional motives, etc., in which one ought to find the answer to the question, why? In particular, if they indeed came prepared to eliminate Saddam and occupy Iraq, and all they needed once they came to power was to find excuses such as threat of WMD, mushroom-cloud, Al-Queda link, etc., how is it possible that they did not have an a-priori reason for their plan?

Hegemony in the post cold-war world, Israel, oil, vendetta against Saddam, combination of some of these or others? Is it not one of the most important issue to understand and reveal to the public why this war? Without understanding the reasons behind it, how can public policy be understood, modified and mistakes not repeated?

It didn't matter if Tenet spoke up about the lies prelude to the Iraq invasion. Bush was going to invade despite anyone's opinion.

In his press conference he made the goof,"We're going to get Saddam,,uhh Osama.." That tells me the whole incident of 911 was about Saddam. Osama was the hit man.
