How about an American Union Party?

As we have seen in Arkansas, unions have been effective in defending the interests of ordinary people. They have organizational skills, and they concentrate on core issues that effect everyone who is not associated with the economic elites. While it is my hope that the Democratic Party can return to its roots as a the party of the people, other options should be considered. I would like to see a party based on the union movement. It can't be called a Labor Party, because there is one already. I think the American Union Party would be an effective name—recognizing the union element, but also describing its commitment to the welfare of the American people.
