Obama and Black Americans: the Paradox of Hope

A realistic discussion

I appreciate this article for what it is: a non-polemical search for common ground and an effort to understand racial expectations in America. Unfortunately, Obama took office under some of the most intense and perhaps unrealistic expectations to ever face a president. People didn't want change, they wanted radical change. I think that has to be foremost in this conversation. Whether black America has a right to expect more is open to debate, but I feel like there is a great argument in this piece.
