What horrendous timing for Esther Kaplan to write an article blaming George W. Bush for all mine disasters that happened during his tenure. Now, with what's gone on this past week, surely she must be readying an Obama-bashing for an incident exceeding anything that happened during GWB'S tenure.

It will be interesting to see how she handles this situation. I imagine she'll bury her head in the sand. That would be the most hopeful scenario. Either that or she will somehow find a way to blame Bush anyhow. I shall wait and see.

The remarkable coincidence of the lead to this article referring to the twenty-five-year-old mining disaster that has been in the news so much lately in connection with the disaster in West Virginia led me to think that Joe Main, the new head of Mine Safety for the Department of Labor, would do something new and different and exciting and encouraging. But no, I have not seem him at the site, have not heard him make a statement. I could not even find a quote from him about this disaster. So much for my excitement.
