Re the cost of slings and arrows.

If US bankers, with the great gaping maw that is their achievement, had been encouraged to fall, a lot of other folks would've found themselves being promoted--and not, as is the case for them now, in need of second jobs.

How does one say such a thing to an assigned caseworker at the employment office? How would one persuade the state to believe and to report of him that he is unemployed from two jobs.

I will regard this as vindication for about twenty postings round 2004 to 2007, which pointed to these factors as making a long timeline for withdrawal.

At the time, most of the magazine's readers were angry in rejecting the simple truth. I hope my message is a bit more elegant, but "Nyah, nyah, I told you so!"
