The article focuses on anti-French stories released by American journalists as a form of punishment for France's opposition to the American invasion of Iraq in 2003. A story in the "New York Times," newspaper indicated that France had sold high-precision switches used in nuclear weapons to Iraq. Upon investigation, the dual-use switches were found to have been requested as medical equipment and were barred by France upon learning of the deception. Reports from other American publications are discussed.
