This article contends that the major flaw of the U.S-backed road map to a permanent two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is its failure to focus on the Israeli occupation. Some of the other flaws of the road map is the absence of a fixed timetable and the addition of interim phases to a process that is already prolonged. Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories should be addressed if any plan to end the conflict is to succeed. The plan focus much on Palestinian violence and how to combat it.
