This article praises the Democratic state legislators in Texas who fled the state to neighboring states of Oklahoma and New Mexico in order to block the bills being shepherded by the Republican majority. It describes the Republican state congressional leadership in Texas as tyrannical and as close to compromise. The Republicans say that the Democratic legislators only want to block the redistricting plans of the Republicans. The Governor of Texas has ordered the arrest of Democratic legislators who flew to neighboring states.
