The article narrates the author's experience in Iraq, where he witnessed the conditions of some Iraqis and U.S. troops after the war between the two countries. Staff Sergeant Jason Pond of the 101st Airborne Division and his patrol team takes interest in the well-being of the Iraqis. The author also listened to some residents, who outpoured their grievances about life in postwar Baghdad. For some residents, the fall of former state leader Saddam Hussein fully justifies the uncertainties of their present life. However there are some who believes that the invasion of the U.S. is for the oil in Iraq.
