The author focuses on presidential contender Howard Dean comparing himself to the late Senator Paul Wellstone. He states that Dean acknowledges that he identifies with Wellstone's passion and commitment to beliefs. He claims that while Dean may share some measure of the passion of Wellstone, his record and agenda are very different. He mentions that Dean advocated sending nuclear waste from Vermont to Sierra Blanca, Texas, while Wellstone called the motive blatant environmental injustice.
