The article focuses on the changing discourse of British politics and the way ideology has been sidetracked. The coming parliamentary elections in which the labor is expected to sweep, is considered to be a watershed in British democracy. Due to lack of ideological and policy differences between the two main political parties, politics now hinges on personalities, which has resulted into depoliticization of the entire political climate in Great Britain. This depoliticization sounds familiar to American readers, so will the current British preoccupation with crime and punishment.
