The article presents a discussion on how problems faced by women are exaggerated by fellow women. The author says that a few years ago date rape was really bad sex and domestic violence a much--overblown and genderless problem. Depressing statistics about sticky floors, glass ceilings and women's earnings as compared to those of men, 71 cents on the male dollar, up from 59.4 cents in 1970-give a false picture of women's current prospects: Only in recent years women had the access, education, consistent participation in the work force.
