This article presents information on motion pictures titled "Donnie Brasco" and "The Daytrippers." It is informed that "Donnie Brasco" starring Johnny Depp, Al Pacino and directed by Mike Newell is based on the book "Donnie Brasco: My Undercover Life in the Mafia," by Joseph D. Pistone. It is opined that the storyline of "Donnie Brasco" has an emotional core which is good enough to make it an interesting movie. It is also informed that Greg Mottola, the young writer-director who makes his debut with "The Daytrippers," knows how to make things look fresh, sometimes several things in succession. That's lucky, because his story, in outline, does not sound promising.
