The article comments on Ron Fitzsimmons', executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, dramatic statement that he lied through his teeth fifteen months ago when he said that only 450 "partial-birth abortions" are performed annually in the United States. According to the author, actually, Fitzsimmons had it right the first time independent developmental evaluation's performed on women carrying theoretically viable fetuses are extremely rare and performed only for grave medical cause.
