This article criticizes anti-gay remarks that were made by Rick Santorum, the chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus. Santorum's remarks were significant when seen in the aftermath of an anti-gay rights case, Lawrence v. Texas, before the U.S. Supreme Court. The case questions the constitutionality of a Texas Homosexual conduct law that specifies sodomy as deviate sexual intercourse. The petitioner argues that Texas has neither the interest in not the ability to prosecute every incident of homosexual act.
