Crackdown in Cuba

The author considers the trend toward greater tolerance dissent in Cuba. He believes that the arrest and imprisonment of dissidents in Cuba and the immediate execution of three convicted hijackers were deplorable. U.S. Interests Section Chief James Cason held a number of meetings with dissidents to promote transition to a participatory form of government. He cites the vital element in the crackdown of Cuban dissidents.
