What would Emily Litella make of the new series from "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter? Saturday Night Live's aurally challenged defender of public virtue, who once crusaded against the abundance of "violins on TV," might well have been outraged at the maudlin string section that performs the end of- the-world theme music to "Millennium" accompanying a title sequence that looks like a "Nine Inch Nails" video directed by Luis Bunuel cousin. As it happens, "Millennium" has been getting more attention for its violence than for its soundtrack.
