The article presents the information that tacit acknowledgment of the growing public backlash against economic globalization was echoed at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The author states that concerns of the Davos participants were amplified in a February 1, 1996 issue of the newspaper "The International Herald Tribune" in an article written by Klaus Schwab and Claude Smadja, respectively founder/president and managing director of the World Economic Forum. With striking candor and insight, Schwab and Smadja noted that globalization tends to de-link the fate of the corporation from the fate of its employees. It has created a world in which "those who come out on top win big, and the losers lose even bigger."
