Retying the knot

This article presents information on various issues related to same-sex marriage in the U.S. According to the author fair judgment given by U.S. Supreme court and others have encouraged the controversial issue of same-sex marriage. That sense of fairness also draws on the liberal idea that a pluralist democracy's institutions should be capacious, that civic marriage should be one-size-fits-all. But same-sex marriage does more than just fit; it announces that marriage has changed shape. As with any social change, there will be more consequences, which look pretty progressive. There are practical benefits like the ability to share insurance and pension benefits, care for our ill partners, inherit automatically, protect children from desperate custody battles.
