The article reports on the members of the U.S. Democratic Party who are for the Iraq War. The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) said in its memo released in April 2003, that Democrats who are against the war in Iraq should not claim that they are sticking to the Democratic tradition. The memo also stated that anti-war Democrats should not claim that they are the democratic wing of the Democratic Party. It was also stated in the memo that the Democratic Party is a supporter of the United Nations. The DLC also claimed that the antiwar Democrats link the military conflict in Iraq with the conflicts in Vietnam.
