The article presents the author's opinion regarding the appointment of Jay Garner as chief of the U.S. Department of Defense's Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance. As chief of the office, he will be responsible for the reconstruction efforts in Iraq. He claims that Garner is not suited to be chief of the office because of several reasons such as corporate cronyism charges against him and allegiance to Israeli right-wingers. However, U.S. Department of Defense officials say that he has the same vision as Rumsfeld when it comes to peacekeeping after a war.
