This article focuses on the issues covered by media and the way they present it. The author says that Television news shows will occasionally run a segment showing that welfare is a life-line for the impoverished rather than the cause of their impoverishment, or that the only thing Medicare needs saving from is the greed of the medical-industrial complex. The author says that everyone shares a blame for using wrong ways to presents things. The article describes that Nexis reports that 24,142 newspaper articles mentioning O.J. Simpson in 1995, compared with 12,175 containing the word racism--7,688 touching on welfare reform and a mere 1,592 on the subject of global warming.
