The author recounts the events in the Philippines following the first U.S. military attack in Iraq. When U.S. and British forces crossed into Iraq on March 20, 2003, he was in transit headed to the Philippines. He arrived in Manila to find the country divided between an anti-war movement and a government supporting the U.S. military movement. He also relates his encounter with a group of college students from Baghdad University.
