The article focuses on various theatrical productions. "Twister" is a multimedia play, with music by Ken Kesey and some of the original Merry Pranksters. "The Chicago Conspiracy Trial" is less pertinent to the middle-aged than to the young. Frank Condon's beautifully realized production of "The Chicago Conspiracy Trial" at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles doesn't so much reopen the question of the eight defendants' culpability for what happened at the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention as it tries the trial-much as the original did. "The Chicago Conspiracy Trial," which has closed at the Odyssey and is looking for future bookings, is perhaps less pertinent to those of us whose history it is than for the current generation, like the young woman who turned to the middle-aged couple beside her, wide-eyed with disbelief that a defendant had been chained and gagged in a U.S. court of law.
