This article presents information on the motion picture "Ed Wood," directed by Tim Burton. There's something lacquered about the black-and-white cinematography of Tim Burton's new film, something hard and shiny. One can see it in the gleam of actor Johnny Depp's teeth as he grins in the title role, his incisors glistening too brightly against the void where his front teeth should be. Ed's girlfriend and leading lady, Dolores Fuller, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, swallows hard and goes on believing in Ed, even after he lands his first assignment as a film director and transforms the project into a confessional drama about his deep need for women's clothes. But even characters who are more hardened than Dolores have a way of falling for Ed. Such is the case with Bela Lugosi, a has been, impoverished and morphine-addicted, who rallies at the end of his life when caught up in Ed's enthusiasm.
