The article focuses on the book "Un-American Activities: The trials of William Remington," by Gary May. May's riveting account of the case of William Remington, a young civil servant who had been accused of spying for the Russians, may revive some producer's interest in "Remington-the Movie." Though a martyr, Remington was not a saint. In fact, if May is to be believed, he was a rather unappealing character with a strong eye on the main chance. Though Remington espoused conservatism in the presence of his mentors, May believes that he and his wife, Ann, remained Communists.
