The article focuses on the perception of love during a time when it is deprived of meaning. Writer Albert Camus who was an advocate of love, wrote of novels considering transcendent versus ordinary love. These days, with love frequently represented in contemporary literature as a futureless experience soon to be replaced by new stimulation, it's something of an oddity to read about heroines like the Princesse de Clèves and Ellénore. Their souls are constancy itself, and for them love becomes a matter of the spirit and therefore endures and transforms. Many fine novels and epics have been created by some eminent writers that speak volumes on the immortality of love and its effects on the people. Novels such as Pride and Prejudice are some of such novels that champion the cause of love.
