The article presents information about the post war scenario of Ireland. Lorcan Cahill is one of the senior figures in the Irish Republican movement. In 1969 he was a founder of the Provisional IRA. Back in 1942 he was condemned to hang for shooting an Ulster policeman. In the end Cahill's sentence was commuted go to the gallows. Cahill told his audience in New York that back in that cell he'd made Williams a promise, that he would continue to fight till the movement got what it wanted. Cahill told Irish-American sympathizers in Philadelphia that the IRA would never give up weapons necessary to end the Catholic communities, and would also be demanding unconditional amnesty for Republican prisoners.
