The article focuses on various issues related to politics and government in the U.S. The article discusses the consensus of the Democratic White House and the Congress on various issues including lifting of the U.S. trade embargo against Cuba. It argues that the Republicans and Democrats are putting similar views on various issues despite being affiliated to different parties. As Republican Senator John Warner and Democratic Senator Paul Simon warn of the dire consequences that would follow Oliver North's election to the Senate. Similarly Bob Dole and Ralph Nader agree that Congress should go slow on the GATT treaty. A Democratic White House and Congress united being a coherent program will become even more improbable than all these other odd couples.
