This article briefly reports various recent socio-political and legal cases and related developments in the U.S. At first, it discusses a letter by Jordan Bishop, a resident of Ottawa, Ontario, who has sent some pertinent observations regarding people's perception about religious movements for birth control. It was estimated that millions of people will be participating in the coming United Nations' conference on world population and development. There will be emissaries of the Catholic Church battling for the papal posture against artificial birth control. Above all, there will be the usual fissure of interest and perspective between the First World and the Third. The article further discusses the case of Keith McHenry who is facing a possible life sentence under California's three-strikes rule. The United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva, Switzerland, is now investigating the treatment of the case.
