This article focuses on issues related to AIDS, its spread , and various steps taken for its prevention in the United States, with specific reference to gay people of San Francisco. There is no great mystery about how HIV gets transmitted. A survey carried out by the San Francisco Health Department reports that a third of gay men between the ages of 17 and 22 are having unsafe sex. The apparent resurgence of AIDS suggests that AIDS seroconversion rates could rise and fall from one generation to the next in cycles of awareness. Blunt words are essential to break the cycle. The Stop AIDS Project has taken matters a useful step further by organizing discussions in which gay and bisexual men vent their sexual frustrations and rediscover their resolve.
