Vengeance being the political order of the day, talk-radio "shock jock" Howard Stern has pledged to deliver it in ample doses-volts-if elected Governor of New York in November 1994. "We need retribution:," he charged during the Libertarian Party convention held in Albany, New York in late April 1994. Formed in the early 1970s, the Libertarian Party is for decriminalization of drugs and no taxes, and has a love affair with the Second Amendment. Its partisans run the gamut from left to right, but it has never caught on as a serious third-party option in big elections. What one might call Generation Execute completely overwhelmed the proceedings and led at least one Libertarian Party regular to compare the convention to a certain beer hall putsch.
