The article focuses on the attempts to forge unity among health care reform activists, who split over the health plan of U.S. president, Bill Clinton. The health plan declares health care to be a basic right and it strove to give every citizen decent care. Clinton plan relies heavily on the marketplace, gives tremendous power to a handful of mammoth insurance companies and seems likely to perpetuate a tired system where the poor would lose out. Activists disagreed angrily, and the disarray quickly infected their meetings. The reformers have now split into three squabbling factions.
