This article presents information on the Presidential elections in El Salvador during the year 1994. The March 20, 1994 elections in El Salvador were part of a process that began with the 1992 peace accords between the E.M.L.N. and the government. Left parties, including the F.M.L.N., formed a coalition in the presidential campaign behind the candidacy of Ruben Zamora and ran their own slates in legislative and municipal elections. A runoff for president between Zamora and the right-wing ARENA candidate, Armando Calderón Sol, is scheduled for April 24, 1994. Whatever happens that day, it is clear that vote counts are only the simplest part of this story.
