This article presents information on several political issues of the U.S. Whitewater is serious, but it is no constitutional crisis yet. With Whitewater being batted about by partisans, it is either nothing at all or the end of democracy. Whitewater deserves investigation, not fixation. Meanwhile, the Republicans are on a tear. The White House has botched up so badly that Alfonse D'Amato, the most ethically challenged member of the U.S. Senate not accused of sexual harassment, is able to get away with lecturing the Administration on probity in office. The true casualty--and Republicans know it--might be health care reform. U.S. President Bill Clinton, is continuing with his usual schedule. Rumors are rampant that as Clinton aides feel politically weaker, they are preparing to compromise with Representative Jim Cooper, the leading advocate of a more conservative health care initiative.
