Vietnam, which remains the only modern Third World nation to defend successfully its national sovereignty against a great-power attack twice, and to do so on behalf of socialist ideals, is crawling with businessmen from Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaydia, Australia, France and now, with the lifting of the embargo, the United States. Vietnam rushes forward to fulfill its destiny as "the last great untapped business opportunity in Asia," according to a "New York Times" business reporter, who cites the nation's "70 million people known for their industriousness, whose labor is as cheap as any on the continent."
