The article presents information on the book "Behind the Times: Inside the New York Times," by Edwin Diamond. Diamond through this book would like to remind that, while editors get most of the publicity, they still hired help. Publishers run newspapers and own them. The book contains several information on important editorial decisions not only on the business side, selling off a corporate stake in cable television for Sunbelt newspapers and special-interest magazines and fleeing the city for suburbia and satellite editions of a national Times.
