The article presents a critical analysis of two books. These books are "The Morning After: Sex, Fear, and Feminism on Campus," by Katie Roiphe; and "Fire With Fire: The New Female and How It Will Change the 21st Century," by Naomi Wolf. According to Roiphe, the anti-date-rape movement's best-known manifestation, "Take Back the Night," works against its own political purpose. Roiphe insists that women have made religion and spectacle of their victimization, detouring their own empowerment, denying their own responsibility, and preaching about what sex should be like.
