The article presents stories of antiwar activities across the U.S. The U.S. government's planned invasion of Iraq sparked various antiwar protests and peace demonstrations in the country. Ellen Hansen, assistant professor of geography at Emporia State University in Kansas, relates how a group of students and faculty got together to protest the war. John Killeen, a student in Washington College in Maryland, describes the participation of students in a debate about the war and the peaceful resolution of international conflicts. Joanie V. Connors, assistant professor of educational foundations at the University of Arkansas, describes the antiwar activities of the Omni Center for Peace, Justice and Ecology in Fayetteville.
